Summary
The Test Technician is responsible for ensuring device components are registered in the database and that all devices are properly tested and erased of data. Data erasure is the primary function they will perform daily. Strong technical aptitude is a must for the ability to quickly understand the software and hardware unique to each of the many product lines.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Inspect, grade and log functionality of each device
- Run data erasure application and submit erasure reports
- Run diagnostics and imaging functions on devices that meet such criteria
- Meet production goals for both quality and quantity produced
- Flex to other departments from time-to-time as needed to meet variable production demands
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Ability to correctly identify manufacturer, brand, model numbers, serial numbers
- Ability to boot to and change BIOS functions
- Ability to run system diagnostics and record results
- Attention to detail necessary to consistently maintain quality standards
- Ability to recognize a wide variety of data-bearing devices
- Ability to read and understand work-orders
- Ability to read, understand and uphold policies and procedures
- Willingness to flex into other job roles from time-to-time as production demands dictate
- Willingness to work overtime when needed from time-to-time
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, sit and stand
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous Data Erasure software and system diagnostic software experience preferred
- Prior experience in a fast-paced technical environment is a plus.
- Experience in backup and image management software
